Blunt chart (1846) shows an Island named North Kay in the Dry Tortugas group. A chart of the Dry Tortugas drawn for the U.S. Navy Department also shows the key. The U.S. Coast Survey chart #471A (1874) shows North Key, followed by the legend "disappeared."

Modern charts show no island in this location, but North Key Harbor does appear in the Dry Tortugas.
