Captain Barton, of Carolina and the Bahamas, in his "General Directions for Sailing From Cape Canaveral to Kay Biscaino, & From Thence Within the Florida Reef Into the Gulf of Mexico" (1774) states that Saddle Bluff was also known as Three Hummocks Kay.
