Geographic Location
Located in Florida Bay, eight miles due north of
Lignum Vitae Key.
Scope Note
Named by Charles M. Brookfield and Lt. Madison of
the U. S. Coast & Geodetic Survey after the
hurricane of 1935 to honor the Calusa Indians.
