Scope Note:

A map copyrighted and published by Norman Garbush, Miami, (date uncertain) shows Bonefish Key located on U.S. Highway 1, immediatly to the east of Vaca Cut. The key is a small one, and seems to have lost its name and been merged with adjacent Fat Deer Key. The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago holds a large collection of seashells collected in the Florida Keys. Many of the specimens are labeled as having been collected at Bonefish Key.
