U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey chart #169 (1878) shows "Snipe Key or A". U.S. Coast survey charts, sketch F (1860) and 1868 survey both indicate Key A. U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey chart #1251 of 1932 indicates Snipe Key.
