Angelfish Key

Scope Note:

Visited in 1923-24 by the Crile Florida Expedition, which was studying herons.

Geographic Location:

Located immediately north of Key Largo.

F.W. Gerdes, in his journal for 1848-49 states: "The island above Kay Largo is Angelfish Kay." So named on U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey chart # 1249, 1937 ed.
